Elvira was born and raised in Toronto,
Ontario and has been in the media business since 1986. She graduated from York University
with double honours in Mass Communications and English Literature. She continued her post
University education in Broadcast Journalism. Elvira began her career as a News Reporter
for the Toronto Sun and moved in to radio journalism after landing a news job in Owen
Sound. In her years as a News Reporter and News Director for various stations, Elvira has
been challenged with one on one interviews with Prime Ministers, Community Leaders, and
with convicted murderers. Along the way she has won various awards, including a Lifestyles
Documentary Award for her one on one interview with a triple murderer in Barrie. Elvira has spent the majority of her career in a news room, but it
is no secret that her love of music lies within her hits and classic rock routes. It's no
surprise, therefore, that one of her personal career goals was achieved when she was
picked up by the number one classic rock station in Canada, Q107 back in March of 2004.
Elvira's versatility in the radio industry and her years
of professional experience affords her the opportunity to be a News Anchor one day, and a
Psychedelic Sunday Announcer the next.
Elvira is also a professional voice over performer,
equipped with a full broadcast home studio in her basement. Next time you listen to
a radio or television commercial or perhaps an infomercial or corporate video, you may
recognize her voice.
In 2006, Elvira joined fellow radio colleague Nadia
Cerelli-Fiore in creating Plan B Promotions, an Events and Full Marketing and Pubic
Relations Agency , including Co-Organizing SavourVaughan and Beyond Restaurant Week Event.
She also pursued her voice acting career full time and is one of the most sought out
voices in the industry.
